Individual Donations Make a Difference

Our philanthropic partners are making a difference in the lives of the people we serve. Their generosity fuels our mission and helps create Boundless possibilities.

We spotlight one of our generous donors each quarter and we celebrate Jack Grote for the fourth quarter of 2024. Grote has given generously to Boundless programs and has been instrumental in building Boundless’ Open Circle Society. We asked him a few questions about his philanthropic goals and why he chose Boundless.

What inspired you to support the Boundless mission with a charitable gift?

I was fortunate enough to get asked to join Open Circle Society early on and through those first few meetings I learned a lot about the far-reaching impact that Boundless has on so many people in our community. Uplifting and empowering people with intellectual/developmental disabilities has been a cause I've been passionate about for several years now, so the mission of Boundless resonated immediately.

Which Boundless programs or service areas interests you the most?

There's too many to list. Every time I'm with someone from Boundless or talking to one of the folks they serve I learn about a new way that Boundless is making an impact. I think the Boundless Health Center has the biggest "wow" factor whenever I tell people about it. It's essentially the only one of its kind in terms of being a holistic, all-in-one health resource for this community. The need for a place like this is often taken for granted, so I remember how much it opened my eyes during my first tour through there.

What do you wish everyone knew about Boundless?

Well first off, just simply that Boundless exists, it's here in Central Ohio, and the team there is impacting our community in so many positive ways. Boundless doesn't yet have the name recognition in our community that I feel it should given how broad it range of services is and how many people it touches around Ohio. My reason for joining Open Circle Society is hopefully to help increase that community awareness of Boundless, both to drive increased support through funding and volunteering from community members, but also to get the word out so that more people in need of Boundless' services know where to look.

What do you hope to accomplish with your philanthropy?

I hope that whatever I am able to contribute through donations, through volunteering my time, and by spreading awareness can have a positive impact on Boundless and its ability to better serve the I/DD and behavioral health communities. If one additional person gets the support and love they need from Boundless because of what I can contribute, then that's a huge win. Spreading love and support in our community is so important these days, and supporting Boundless has absolutely been a great way for me to participate in that.

Open Circle Society is a diverse group of hands, hearts and voices with a passion for creating inclusive spaces and equal access to opportunities. Leaders from the community are invited to engage in a meaningful connection with Boundless by leveraging their unique talents through projects, social engagements, philanthropic endeavors and educational opportunities all geared toward furthering the Boundless mission. This group works in partnership with the Boundless philanthropy team to develop a quarterly or annual plan that they will then carry out independently. In addition to setting a fundraising goal for the group, each member will be asked to make a personally meaningful gift. Visit the Open Circle Society LinkedIn page to learn more.
