Here are our Boundless staff's favorite books so far this year:
"The Teacher" by Freida McFadden
- I love Frieda McFadden books! - Erica Rock
"Fourth Wing" by Rebecca Yarros
- It was a fun fantasy story with dragons, battles, romance and suspense. My favorite quote is "Strength of courage is more important than physical strength." - Kendra Hollatz
- My favorite quote is "A dragon without its rider is a tragedy. A rider without their dragon is dead." - Brooklyn Cork
"The Housemaid" by Freida McFadden
- I like mystery and thrillers and this book got a lot of recommendations. - Atashha Reeves
"The Things We Leave Unfinished" by Rebecca Yaros
- It is a love story that transcends time and almost anyone can relate to. - Jessica LaMee
"Dare to Lead" by Brene Brown
- I chose this book to help find ways to be a more effective leader and to understand my staff. I don't have a favorite quote, just be kinder to yourself and give yourself grace on tough days. Staff can be going through a lot we do not know about so give them grace and communicate in a clear, calm manner. - Julie Battaglia
"How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie
- Good for social dynamics. - Kara Dolan
"The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" by Taylor Jenkins Reid
- It was a well-written book that kept my attention throughout and was a fictional novel that also hit on some topics that are still very relevant today. - Alexis St. Peter
"Local Woman Missing" by Mary Kubica
- I love thriller books, and this was just that! It kept me on the edge of my seat. The twist at the ending was shocking and made it one of the best books I've ever read. - Emily Jordan
"Hyperion" by Dan Simmons
- Classic hard science fiction written in the style of Canterbury Tales. My favorite quote is "It occurs to me that our survival may depend on talking to each other." - Adam Dettoree
"A Court of Mist and Fury" by Sarah J. Maas
- I chose this book because the main character, Feyre, learns who she is and how she is much stronger than anyone thinks. She overcomes a lot in this book. My favorite quote is "To the stars who listen and the dreams that are answered." - Nikkii Sbeghen
"A Woman of Purpose and Power" by Dr. Myles Munroe
- This book was a gift from my mother, and I must say, I pick it up during any free time. My favorite quote is "The greatest power of a woman is to be a woman." - Theresa Alexander
"An Untamed State" by Roxane Gay
- It is a story that forces you to reflect on race, sex and class. It is a beautifully written story that will make you think about areas of society that we often avoid. - Sarah Allen
"Joan of Arc" by Mark Twain
- It tells the true story of Joan of Arc with 12 years of historical research completed to finish the project. The story reads as a story, as it was written by her childhood friend in his old age. My favorite quote is "She was reserved and kept things to herself, as the true greats always do." - Isabel Smith
"The Women" by Kristin Hannah
- Interesting insights on overlooked heroes in recent U.S. history. - Christine Chenevey
"Hang the Moon" by Jeannette Walls
- Jeannette Walls wrote "The Glass Castle," her memoir, which was already a favorite of mine. - Stephanie Niedermier
"The Dew Breakers" by Edwidge Danticat
- It can either be read cover-to-cover or as a series of short stories. The stories do intertwine or stand-alone as well. It's a creative novel that gives perspective. - Tyler Stone
"Long Range" by C.J. Box
- It is the 20th book in the author's "Joe Pickett" series. I love this series that I started six or seven years ago. - Cathleen Leissa
